Crews Return To Deep Horizon Well Head & Plan to Start The Kill By Sunday

Tropical storm Bonnie moved out of the Gulf and the crews returned to monitor the well.  They plan to kill the well by pumping cement and heavy mud through the cap and into the top of the well.  This static kill could start as early as this Sunday.  Work on the relief well started up again too.  Once it breaks into the main well they will pump the cement slurry down it and completely fill the well from the bottom up.

Once killed the clean up will still remain.  Back in May DU’s Dr. Tom Moorman described what will likely happen and DU’s commitment to the cleanup and restoration of the wetlands.

You can spot the latest conditions of the oil spill and some current video feeds at Google.  (Link Here.)
