DU to Receive $2.5M for Wetland Work in the Gulf

The government gave a grant today to DU so that they can flood areas in the gulf to create new wetland habitats.  This is to provide shelter for migratory birds and to create new homes for animals affected by the BP Gulf Oil Spill.  The oil is already having a negative impact in several marsh areas.

To find out more about what Ducks Unlimited is doing to respond to the crisis in the Gulf visit their Gulf Oil Spill Resource Center.  There you will find the latest in news and information and see a time line as to what DU’s response team has been doing since the spill began.
