Too cool for words. Last time I watched bald eagles was in Minnesota. Beautiful sight.
A great short piece about bird watchers coming across a mother weasel and her young. Great photos to see here…
It seems that sightings of snowy owls this season in Wisconsin are much higher than in previous years. The reason? A drop in the number of lemmings, the owl’s primary food source, in the Arctic Tundra. This happens every few years and is a natural occurrence. Kind of wish I was in Wisconsin right now.
In essence, from 1998 to 2004 there was a net gain of 32,000 wetland acres per year. From 2004 to 2009 there was a net loss of 13,800 acres per year. Troubling figures for a country that’s looking to save more money by cutting funding for wetland conservation. What this means is that more of us in DU and other conservation groups needs to pick up our game.
This site has some fabulous photos and newspaper clippings dealing with the BA Military Mk V Roadster bicycle. The bike sported a special clip to carry a rifle and was used during WWII. Worth checking out.
